Provisioners travel the wasteland with a pack brahmin similar to travelling vendors.They can only travel from their origin point to another settlement. The settlement from which they were assigned will remain their home settlement.Provisioners do not stay in the settlement, instead they travel to their assigned location.Like any other job in your settlement, the NPC will automatically begin completing their task. A Provisioner is a settler assigned to a supply line job.

There are some important things you’ll need to know about Provisioners.

Assigning a settler to a supply line changes the NPC into a Provisioner.

A menu will appear asking where you would like to send the settler.

Move your cursor over a Settler and press the button prompt to assign them to a supply line.

While in workshop mode on your settlement, you’ll notice a new command at the bottom of the menu - Supply Line.

Local Leader requires CHA Level 6 to unlock.

To create Supply Lines, you’ll need to unlock the Local Leader tier 1 perk.

Personally, I often use Sanctuary Hills as a hub to connect all supply lines, but any settlement (including the more centralized Castle) will work. You can send settlers to any settlement in your network, or you can send them all to one central point. After earning the settlement, it’s always a good idea to establish a supply line.

Settlements are unlocked by completing Minuteman faction quests. That includes resources and scrap collected by settlers.
